Activated Carbon Processing

Calomel/Mercury Chloride (HgCl) Conversion

Modified single stage retorts have a unique mercury sulfur trap.

The mining industry as well as many other industries are faced with increasingly stringent pollution control requirements. Many of the system employed to control pollution use sulfur treated activated carbon to remove mercury vapor from both water and air streams. Bethlehem Apparatus now processes these materials in our modified single stage retorts which have a unique mercury sulfur trap attached to the vacuum pump system. We are now in the design phase of building a retort exclusively for sulfur treated carbon with the capability of processing 1,000 tons per year.

We also have the capability to use activated charcoal to clean mercury from natural gas.
